3/4 of a year old, wow. These months sure have flown by. Rita asked us the other day which went by faster: the 9 months of pregnancy or these 9 months with Alli? Both!
After her 9 month well-baby appointment, Alli still is checking out as super-long! I've finally learned to buy her pants and pjs too big (instead of just right), so that we can get more use out of them. Her little personality is developing more and more. She is definitely an observer and feeler. She loves touching different textures, like the raised numbering on her bottle and different carpets and materials. She'll notice the tiniest little piece of fuzz that is out of place on the ground and reach and reach to get it. Forget using the good old remote to try and get her to crawl, we'll have to put a little black speck on the tan carpet, ha!
Here are a few developments from the last month:
- Reach, reach, reach - one of her favorite things to do is try to get the toy farthest away from her
- Books - she is still fascinated with reading books.
- Textured food - not a big fan. She's slowly getting better, but it often results in a whole lotta raspberries. She does love her veggies though, and prefers them over fruit. She's tried some turkey and chicken too and enjoys them.
- Looking at and touching the buttons on our shirts
- Laughing when I put on my new glasses
First taste of Ice Cream, yum! Cold Stone Creamery of course.

This is where the puffs and cheerios often end up. They make it in her mouth and then back out again.
Hiking on the back side of the neighborhood trails
Alli saved up all the "Dadadas", "Bababas" and "MaMaMas" and let them all out for the first time in one day. Here's a video clip, mixed in with a number of slobbery raspberries too. (Click to play)
